Examples of our energy & power company construction experience are presented below:

■ The refurbishing and re-commissioning of three 120 MW coal-fired generating units, wherein assistance was provided to the contractor in determining cost and time impacts from directed change orders.

■ A turbine and generator replacement contract on a dam in the western U.S., where assistance was provided to the contractor in seeking additional compensation and a time extension for claimed extra work, and also assisted in defending against a subcontractor’s claim for alleged extra work.

■ A dam and aqueduct project in Arizona wherein a project control system specification was prepared for in contracts and in monitoring contractor performance.  Forms were prepared to aid in monitoring physical progress and in the collection of data for change order requests.

■ Cogeneration facility in New Jersey in which the general contractor was defending its action of terminating for default its piping subcontractor while seeking from the owner additional time and cost due to design changes and owner caused delays.  Services included technical issue analyses; schedule delay analysis; performance evaluations; and damage quantification.

■ Hydroelectric projects in Louisiana, and Arizona, for which services included project controls implementation; change order and technical issue analyses; schedule delay, disruption, and acceleration analyses; performance evaluations; impact pricing and damage quantification; dispute resolution assistance; and litigation support.

■ A nuclear plant’s spent fuel handling and storage system, wherein assistance was provided to a contractor in defending against claims by the supplier for extra costs related to the production and installation of a 40-ton single fail-proof crane.
